After a stint working overseas I am back in the UK and ready to take on new work. Already been drumming up some interest for the manufacturing side of the business and also got some 2D draughting work lined up for the next few weeks coming up.
If you are looking for someone to outsource your CAD workload to then give me a call and we can discuss your needs.
The Tender that we put in for the Mechanical & Electrical services 3D coordination of a school was accepted and we start working on that this Monday. We also won the Plantroom coordination job which we will be starting early next week, and we are still waiting for the verdict of the FabMEP+ conversion project.
So for the next few weeks it is going to be very busy for us. For the most part of next week we will be concentrating on the drainage and ductwork coordination. Busy times ahead.
Well it has been a very busy week for us, I personally worked 7 days this week (again) but it's all good fun. After almost completing the concept module and risers from last week we have been asked to do the same for another job. One six storey riser and one multi service corridor module. In addition to this, three tenders have gone in this week to utilise our CAD Services knowledge. One full coordination project of a school, one plantroom for off-site build and a Revit to FabMEP+ conversion.
This week our CAD services have been used for mainly 2D draughting. However, on Thursday we had an interesting meeting with one of our clients. They require us to use our artistic talents to help them win a very large contract. We have to interpret some 2D drawings and translate them into what could be built off-site. Mainly 6 meter long services modules and risers are to be built. So we are designing a promotional package to include a typical service module and 2 main services risers than span 6 floors.
Today was a very interesting day as far a cad draughtsman goes. I have been learning all about Revit MEP & FAB MEP+. I have been told that this is the future of Off-Site Manufacture and Prefabrication drawings, so I decided to take the plunge and get stuck in. It is nothing like what I have previously been doing using AutoCAD software. It is going to be hard to start thinking a new way, but I am sure I will get there.
This week has been very fast paced for us with numerous projects on the go and all had to be finished for Friday. Needless to say that we achieved our goal and our Clients all seemed to be pleased with our CAD Services for this week. Great result! Some of the projects we completed included a 14 story mechanical services riser, 17 x 6m long under floor modules and turning them into manufacturing drawings for off-site prefabrication and a 2 x 3m long 200mm dia header pipes made into a manufacturing drawing.
First day back to work in the New Year and we are off to a flying start. Today we have been creating some 2D CAD Services drawings for one of our Clients based in Horsforth, West Yorkshire. We have a tight deadline to get these finished, so no time to ease back into things after a long break.
Well it's was our last day in the office today before Christmas, and it seemed like everyone of our clients was frantically trying to get everything finished and all lose ends tied up before the Christmas break. No easy wind down for the CAD Services team today, it was an early start and a late finish. It done now though for another year. So Merry Christmas everybody, speak to you all in the new year.
This weeks CAD Services have been 90% dominated by one client. We were asked to help out on a project with a very tight deadline. The project was to produce manufacturing drawings for a series of risers for a hospital project. Each riser frame was between 3m and 4.5m tall and there are 4 stacked on top of each other, these consisted of mainly electrical services but some mechanical running up through the building, with a total of 4 floors. There were 6 to complete and is was a nice and interesting job to do.
Most of the week at CAD Services we have been doing 2D As Fitted drawings for one client. The job was a large hospital in the Nottingham area which was coordinated early last year and now was the task of getting the drawings up to scratch after the builders have been in. Also we have been been creating manufacturing drawings for a large media centre in manchester. These consisted of large modules containing 200mm dia chilled water pipework with basket and traywork running around the main corridor in the new building.
Putting the finishing touches to the coordination of a hospital job we have been doing recently. This project has kept us busy for many months now and has been a great experience as far as CAD Services go. We have gained lots of valuable experience in taking part on this job, and hopefully we can carry all this forward and continue to produce excellent quality drawing work.
Two of our clients this week have been using our CAD Services to help out with the creation of some building services risers and manufacturing drawings. Another job from one client also included manufacturing drawings to be created for a series of underfloor corridor modules. Then we are also tying up the final parts to a hospital which we have been doin gthe coordination for. So it was a very busy week for us on the building side of things.
